TrueAllele® Databank Quality Assurance

TrueAllele automated rule analysis provides detailed quality assurance information at the individual genotype level. Organized by laboratory DNA processing steps (extract, amplify, separate), the rules automatically perform a consistent and detailed technical review. TrueAllele Databank systems include the AutoValidate™ module for automating validation. TrueAllele Databank has the unique lab feedback feature that enables a supervisor to set consistent and customizable reasons for identifying problem samples for rework and re-extraction during the review process.

TrueAllele Databank has exportable Excel spreadsheets that summarize rule firings and highlight potential data problems; such information can be very helpful in troubleshooting and for ongoing quality assurance. Applying a lab's standard operating procedures, a site administrator can customize the rule thresholds and determine whether or not to use a rule. TrueAllele Databank's technical documentation gives detailed descriptions and illustrative examples of each rule. Quality assurance information is provided for the following:

  • Image and signal processing
  • Background subtraction
  • Dye color separation
  • Lane tracking
  • Peak detection
  • Peak sizing
  • Ladder derivation and comparison
  • Coordinate transformation
  • Peak quantitation
  • Artifact detection
  • Quality assurance of the sequencer run and its controls
  • Over 30 interpretation rules, applied to each genotype, to identify potentially problematic allele calls.
